The alternate takes on disc 2 are the real draw here — hearing the band work through "Drums of the Islands" take after take is something I never expected to get. Discs came clean with no skipping, and the booklet photos alone justified the price for me.

The 60th anniversary remix totally changed how I hear these sessions — the backing vocals on "Sand Castles" finally sit in the mix instead of getting buried. Three discs of outtakes might sound like overkill, but the alternate takes are different enough to stay interesting.
