Elvis Presley: A Little Golden Book Biography

The illustrations are bright and retro, and my four-year-old actually sits through the whole thing instead of flipping ahead. It touches on his music and the jumpsuits without dragging in the heavier stuff, so it works as a first intro to who he was.

Bought this for my nephew who's just getting into music, and the illustrations are colorful enough to hold his attention through the whole book. The text is simple but doesn't talk down to kids, and it covers Elvis's childhood in Tupelo before he got famous. Nice little intro to nonfiction for a 5-y

My 6-year-old asks for this one at bedtime almost every night now, and I don't mind one bit. The Little Golden Book format keeps the facts simple enough for a kindergartner but still gives real details about his life.
