How to Host an Elvis Presley Movie Night at Home

Quick Answer

To host an Elvis Presley movie night, choose a mix of his classic films, set up a comfortable viewing area with themed decor, and serve Southern-inspired snacks. Use Graceland-exclusive items like the Elvis Presley Guitar Graceland Coffee Mug to add authentic touches.

Hosting an Elvis Presley movie night is a fun way to celebrate the King of Rock 'n' Roll with friends and family. Whether you're a lifelong fan or introducing someone new to his films, a themed evening can turn a simple movie screening into a memorable event.

This guide walks you through the process step by step, from picking the right movies to creating the perfect atmosphere. You'll also discover how to incorporate Graceland-exclusive merchandise to make the night feel special.

Choose the Right Elvis Films

Start by selecting a mix of Elvis's most iconic movies. Classics like 'Jailhouse Rock,' 'Blue Hawaii,' and 'Viva Las Vegas' offer a great variety of music, comedy, and romance. If you're planning a marathon, consider grouping them by theme, such as beach films or musicals.

Check the runtime of each film to plan your schedule. A double feature might be perfect for a weeknight, while a full marathon could be a weekend event. Make sure to have breaks between films for snacks and discussion.

• Mix a musical with a drama to keep the night engaging.
• Consider a fan favorite like 'King Creole' for its strong story and performances.

Set the Scene with Themed Decor

Transform your living room into a mini Graceland. Use Elvis posters, vinyl records, and memorabilia to decorate the space. If you have a street sign like the Elvis Presley Profile Street Sign, it can serve as a fun backdrop or prop.

Dim the lights and add some neon or fairy lights for a retro vibe. You can also set up a small table with themed items like the Elvis Graceland TCB Handle Shot Glass as a decorative piece or for toasting during the movie.

• Use a TCB (Taking Care of Business) logo as a motif in your decor.
• Create a photo booth area with Elvis-themed props for guests to enjoy.

Serve Themed Snacks and Drinks

No movie night is complete without snacks. Serve Southern-inspired treats like popcorn, BBQ sliders, or peanut butter and banana sandwiches—a nod to Elvis's favorite. For drinks, consider sweet tea or a punch that can be served in your Elvis mugs.

Use the Elvis Presley Guitar Graceland Coffee Mug for serving coffee or hot chocolate during the movie. Its 18 oz capacity is perfect for a generous serving, and the glittery design adds a festive touch. Just remember it's hand wash only and not microwave safe.

For a fun twist, use the Elvis Graceland TCB Handle Shot Glass for jello shots or as a toothpick holder on a charcuterie board. Its unique TCB handle makes it a conversation starter.

• Prepare snacks in advance so you don't miss any scenes.
• Label drinks with witty names like 'Blue Suede Punch' or 'Hound Dog Hot Cocoa.'

Plan Interactive Activities

Keep guests engaged with trivia questions between films or during intermissions. You can also have a sing-along for famous numbers, or a dance-off to 'Jailhouse Rock.' These activities make the night more than just a viewing.

If you're hosting a larger group, consider a costume contest or a 'best Elvis impression' competition. Award the winner with a small prize like an Elvis Presley Driver's License Magnet, which can also serve as a fun party favor.

• Prepare a list of Elvis trivia questions in advance.
• Have a playlist of Elvis hits ready for dance breaks.

Step-by-Step Hosting Guide
