I bought this mainly for the December 1968 sit-down shows and the sound quality on those masters genuinely surprised me. Having all four discs means I can finally hear the rehearsals and alternate takes instead of just the televised versions I grew up with.

I'd only ever heard the highlights, so finally having the complete June '68 sessions across four discs was a revelation — the between-song talk and false starts make it feel like you're in the room. Disc 3 alone justifies the price.

Getting all the masters from the '68 special in one set is exactly what I wanted, and the alternate takes on disc three are a real treat. The remastering sounds warmer than the bootlegs I've had for years, though the booklet could've used more photos.
