Three CDs of outtakes and alternates from the Girl Happy sessions is more than I expected, and hearing the songs take shape take after take is the real draw here. Jan Eliasson's mastering keeps everything warm without sounding muddy, even on the rougher rehearsal bits.

Vic Anesini's mix really opens up these sessions — you can hear the backing vocals and horns in a way the original soundtrack never let you. Having all the takes across three discs is a lot to dig through, but for a Girl Happy fan it's worth it.

Three discs of these sessions is more than I expected, and the outtakes alone make it worth it. Jan Eliasson's mastering keeps everything warm without sounding compressed. Been playing disc two on repeat all week.
